About Me
My name is Jacob Blackstock and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) with over 7 years of experience. I am currently finishing my PhD in counseling and my dissertation topic is loneliness in young adults. I am hoping I can use what I have learned in my research to help people form better, deeper relationships with others.
I think growth is an infinitely interesting process. I enjoy the seeing the progress in my own life and I enjoy working with people in their own growth. I have found that acceptance, committed action, mindset, and mindfulness are some of the most useful tools in actually changing. I welcome all who are genuinely interested in the growth path. I strive to make Good Different an open and inclusive space for all races, genders, LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent folks.
I grew up in the middle of nowhere in a little log cabin in North Carolina. So when I have some time free I enjoy wandering around nature, disc golf, reading, and any kind of mindfulness thing I can get mixed up in.
